Where are all the Russian luger

I majored in Russian studies at Seton Hall University, and decided to researched the topic of Russian Lugers. approximatly how man lugers were produced and sold to the Russians. I heard a distinct holster was issued, if so who manufactured then?and has anyone, come into possession of a set, Well another luger, another story, oh what was the serial numbeer range?Another Luger, Another Story!

This topic is covered in several books published on Lugers (Datig, Reese, Kenyon, Walter, etc). Read some of them and they will answer your questions to the extent that information about this scarce variation is known. To the best of my knowledge, there has been no positive identification of a holster that was unique to the Russian Lugers.

I thought I posted a photo of my Russian along with an ultra-rare Russian manual (I am not aware of any others), but I can't find it on the Forum, so here it is again.

Ron, does anyone know tha range of serial numbers? I felt like the Eagles, DWM had to produce a number of 'russian'holsters, Im told a few survived to this day.

DWM did not produce the holsters for Eagles or any other Luger. Vanderlinden shows a photo of an "assumed" Imperial Russian holster, but to the best of my knowledge there are no authenticated examples. I certainly would not pay a large amount of money for a "Russian Luger holster" regardless of who is selling it.
There are estimates of the range of serial numbers based on observation of known examples. Pull out your copy of Kenyon's "Lugers at Random".

Everyone knows that levitation is just simple magic. Actually, I tried a new trick and it worked pretty well. I propped up the Luger with a toothpick and then retouched the photo to remove the image of the toothpick. By working the angles and placement of the toothpick, I didn't have to do too much editing.

There is a NAPCA member that usually attends the member-convention in TN that tracks Russian Luger serial numbers. I do not recall his name, but maybe another LF member might and could let you know who that is. If I recall correctly from about 2 years ago, he seemed to have nearly a dozen reported serial numbers on his list and I think he would not add a gun to his list if he did not have a chance to see it it person.

BTW...several of us got to see a Russian Luger under a glass case at the last SOS show in KY in Feb. Owner was not around when I looked at it and I could not see the serial number. Worrisome about this one was it was in brand spanking new condition...like it came out of the blueing tanks 1 month prior. Other boosted and/or forged Russians are out there as well...

IIRC...about 4-5 months ago, I thought another Russian manual ran on eBay. I lost track of it as I was traveling, but it looked real and bidding was nearly $ 1K and not concluded when last I looked...

So maybe other Russian manuals exist ???

That manual on eBay was back in November and I won it. It didn't make it to $1K, thank goodness, but I probably would have gone that high. I do not know of any other Russian manuals, so I feel very lucky to have landed this one.

Eric, Esq, This proves, learning can be fun. I did my thesis at Seton Hall University in West Orange. My topic, 'THE CHECKA, STALINS ' SECRET POLICE,the same group killed Czar Nicholas his wife and their beautiful children. I own a russian revover, a Nagant, and a Mosin Nagant, a cross of two rifles seen on 'Enemys At The Gate' are etched where our Eagles lie. Old George was a genious at personalize to each country he tried to sell. Does anyone know how many varieties of head stamps? I can only count five!

A dealer name Wolf in the Dallas FT Worth area had a Russian for sale. He wanted big bucks for it.
