1941 Mauser Banner magazines
This gun came with two stamped steel magazines with wooden bottoms, no markings. Also one extruded blue with plastic bottom. None of these look old. What is the proper mag for this pistol?

Mark, I think they need a serial number and proofs (that are on the gun -JS), but really a serial number to place this right on. You can do 92xx g but the first and the letter or lack of letter is really needed.

Hi,
The correct magazines are either fxo magazines with alumium bottoms or Haenel S. convex pinned magazines. Magazines should be numbered to the Luger. The fxo magazines are the most common. |

Serial number is 64xx no number. Does an fxo mag have fxo on it? This gun is an East German rework and has had a couple of acceptance marks (I assume) snarbed out so is not a collector but I like to know all I can. Also I've read elsewhere on this forum about Hugh's Marvelous Grips. I'd like to see pictures of the ones with border, can any one direct me? Thanks

Mark, In the "Restoration & Refinishing" catagory, go to the posting by Jim Elson on 06-22-2002 titled Hugh's Grips. You can also email me and I will send you more pics. <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />
