Default Prices

Hi All:

No I haven't quite lost my mind. This was supposed to be a reply to a thread on the Lothar Walther Luger barrels.

But why we are at it, what do you guys think about the price of a good Luger lately?

Default Price Appreciation

Try this Guys:

Here is an example of some appreciation.

My really nice Norwegian capture, byf 41, I purchased around 1995 for $465.00 (with two mint FXO magazines and a so so condition 1941 holster) is now being advertised at prices as high as $2,300!!

How's that for a return on investment!?!

Hell, I should have purchased 25 of them or so!!!

Sieger

PS: My Dad's byf 43 P-38, purchased in 1968 for $35.00, is now selling for $850.00 and up!!

Sieger,

It's funny that you should post that topic accidentally. I was just about to do it on purpose.

I've been talking to people and reading alot lately about Lugers, trying to get a fix on prices. I know there are alot of variations and prices can be affected wildly by rarity, but the one thing that seems to be true is the way prices have skyrocketed on all of them. The $1,100 1918 Erfurt I just picked up is listed everywhere else for about $1,300 and up in that condition. I figured that's a good deal, but as I start reading pricing material that's dated it's clear how prices have doubled in just the past few years. A 1997 value reference places this same Luger at more like $800.

I stared this hobby too late... Can prices go even higher? I can't see how... No one but the super wealthy could afford it.

Well then, let's prey on the super wealthy.
