Need holdopen latch spring install repair

Help !

I need a holdopen latch spring installed on one holdopen latch and on another holdopen I need a new spring and have it installed. Can anyone help - let me know what it would cost. Many thanks. Paul

Have you checked with Tom Heller? He may have the springs and may install them. If you have the springs, I can install them at no charge, just return postage. No guarantee against breakage on installation, tho!

Finding the springs is the hard part. I think that Tom Heller only has VOPO vintage reproductions that require some fitting... Original springs are REALLY hard to find.

"Original" WW2 PO8 HO springs are not what most people want, as they may have been subjected to 60+ years of flexing and are easily damaged being removed from their original HO. I find that most customers want a new spring that will fit into their orig HO and function correctly. TH

I figured out how to install my replacement hold open springs. Basically you line them up carefully on a vice and apply pressure while gently aligning the spring to the recess and lo and behold it will work itself in. Did two of them and they work fine.

Hi,

I finally figured out why my P-08's been jammin', and where the metal flakes inside the frame originated: the bolt stop (HO) spring is missing.

Can I safely shoot the gun minus the HO while I find a replacement (in other words, leave out the whole latch)?

Yes, it just won't stay open after the last shot is fired!

Thanks for the feedback, Hugh.

Fun at the range falls off drastically without my Luger to shoot every third visit or so.

Part of the kick is letting the curious pop a few rounds now and then: "Wow, what is that?" Even "seen-it-all" NRA Range officers have tried it.

Also, it's as accurate as 9mm pistols get, and does't feel like a plastic cap-gun.
