Default Are there imperials with no letter suffix?

Tried to find something about it but couldn't quite, I think. Did they manufacture wartime DWMs no letter suffix with the serial?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the first lot starting at 0001 up thru 9999 would be given no suffix, whereas the next group that size would be suffixed "A".
At least that is my understanding.

That is what I have always read "a" suffix would be 1a equals serial number 10,001
.
NOTE - it states this in the FAQ .

Just to completely rest your mind about it. I have a 1916 no letter.

It is not used as a shooter.

Yes,
each year started over with 1-10,000 and no suffix.

Thank you, gentleman! I thought that's how the numbering worked but wasn't sure if I was interpreting the system correctly

Don't forget that DWM commercial pistols from that era don't have letter suffixes either. Numeric only 1 to 5 digits.

Neither do Swiss Lugers. They are numeric only. 1 to 5 digits except for a small number in the "v" and "u" blocks made by Mauser.

George, is the 1908 Arty a prototype or early commercial of some sort? Generally, their main production began around 1914, right? Love to see a pic of it!

The 1908 is a P08. The LP08s are a 1914, 1915 and 1918.

With all conditions the same, would a non suffix have any more value than one with a letter?
