Default 1916 DWM Unit marking S.5/R.1

I was told but he wasnt positive that this unit marking is the Bavarian 5th Heavy Cavalry Regiment gun number 1. Is that correct, thanks in advance

Hi Charles, It's a post WWI unit mark and is outside my field. Perhaps someone with knowledge of this period will help out. However, it is definitely not the mark of a Bavarian Schweres Reiter unit. Regards, Norm

thanks Norm, at least now i can rule out WW1 era unit markings. I'm pretty new to this and cant seem to come up with anything even with my amazing google fu skills. Now this has REALLY got me curious, thanks alot
