US Test eagle value
I am storing this gun for a friend. It is serial number 7057. All matching except the toggle with is number 77. The extract is now missing. We were shooting it singly with a broken extractor and now the remaining piece is gone. Also it has a small tapped hole drilled in the lower grip area. Other than the above I would rate this the original bluing to be 92 to 95%.Appears to be original wood/nickel magazine.
I believe he will sell it or trade as we are mainly shooters (Love Colts). Looking for a Bisley 38-40. I will let him know of the price that it may be worth and probably list it here. thanks ahead of time Mike |

Hello, welcome to the forum.
I am away from my home right now (at work) so can't look and see if 7057 is within the Bannerman numbers (it is within the accepted "range" of Test Lugers. Dwights' commericial database shows that it has a mismatched toggle? That makes a difference in value; as does the missing extractor and hole in the frame. I would say depending on how many other parts mismatch, at $1600-$2400; maybe more, maybe less. I don't have a Biseley and just 2nd and 3rd gen Colt revolvers, but interested in it. weimar_lugers@verizon.net Ed

No one has sent offers as of yet. I contacted the owner and he does not need the cash now but he likes to shoot any guns he owns. I told him that even if we obtained either an original extractor or repro that it was probably not a good idea to shoot this gun. (We were shooting it single shot and it shoots a perfect point of aim). I wouldn't doubt that the previous owner may have tried loading 9mm into it and that may have been how the extractor broke trying to get a stuck 9mm out of it. I am a big contributor on coltforum.com. and if it were my gun I would want a final end user to own the gun and have it for his own collection. I have not read your rules but if he decides to sell we will list it on your classifieds. thanks Mike

It's a shame that this relic of American history was subjected to the abuse it was designed for, but over 109 years after the fact! Those extractors are hard to find, luckily they weren't numbered parts.
