What is this?
Luger barrel cleaning attachment
This is advertised on egun.de as a guide to slip over the muzzle of a "Pistole 08" to clean the barrel from the muzzle end. Genuine or modern invention? I was always told to clean from the breech end.... |

Looks a bit shiny, might be from the flash.. Besides that, it looks like a genuin police muzzle cover to me.

What are these selling for these day, any idea? I have seen several, but never bought one. Maybe its time I located one at a decent price.

how much
Currently this is going for 40 Euro, ummm about $50 with 3 days of auction left.
I'm new to the world of Lugers so I don't know all the accessories. Was this cover commonly issued? |

Fabian23,
It's not a common accessory but was issued by some police units for cleaning. There is also a similar piece that was part of one of the 22 conversion kits, Erma I think. If it's police issued it should be marked with one of the police stamps, eagle L, eagle C etc. Price sounds about right $50-$100 US. There may be very good modern copies of this item in the market as well, so I wouldn't pay more than $100 for one, unless I had very good assurances that it was original. Bob M. |

larry,
Thanks, and it is good to be back with my Luger friends after several years absence. I have met a number of the Forum members when we had a convention at Ralph Shattuck's in Phoenix several years ago. Sure would be nice to see all the old faces again. |
