Sarco Artillery Holster Rigs?

Has anyone ever purchased or seen the Artillery Luger holster rigs that Sarco (www.sarcoinc.com) sells? Any concept on the quality of these reproductions compared to CMR?

I have not seen one, but the price is right compared to the original rigs. I don't know how their quality compares to the CMR Holsters, but I know the CMR Stuff is excellent. You might make a price comparison and then decide. I think CMR posted on the Forum not long ago (website info)

I just looked and there rig doesn't include the cleaning rod or stock.

Unless the quality has improved tremendously since I bought one a couple of years ago, I would recommend that you look elsewhere, or at least be prepared to return it if not acceptable. It is arguable that something close might be better than nothing (after all, I did keep it...), but...

I believe that mine was made in India. The overall quality was crude: it was not an exact copy (at least it did not smell like a moldy water buffalo...); and the leather was thick and rough on the unfinished side (not to imply that the outside finish was a thing of beauty and a joy to behold, but it was not too bad); and the metal fittings were exercises in primitive metal work.

It looks OK from a distance, but up close and personal it is not something to inspire pride of ownership.

BTW, CMR has a great reputation.

some months ago, I bought a CMR Holster. The quality is very high.

I have one of the current Sarco Artillery Holster Rigs,

installed on a stock I bought from Sarco about 10 years

ago. I bought a holster at the same time, but it did not have the other mounting straps and leather parts. The current set is of better quality.

I'll try to get a picture or two of this on my 1917

LP08 in the owners section real soon.

I have also bought one of Sarco's "New Luger Breachblocks"

This required a little fitting, and is not up to

early WWI standards of finish, but completely functional

for a "shooter" with a worn block.
