Smile it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

my son made it home from Iraq after a year serving with the 1st-23rd Stryker brigade in Mosul. He'll be here this week. He wanted a Bronco, I found him a '73 in South Park Colorado and we are picking it up tomorrow. He wanted a 98k, and I have a rightous bcd4 k98k for him. My daughter is home on 21 day leave from Afganistan where she's serving with an Engineers brigade, and she loves the spit and shine, so she's attacking all my shoes and boots, bringing them to a mirror gloss while lecturing me on leather care. Thor is finishing up my 1900 AE. Today I shot two consecutive 1.0MOA 5 round groups with my new pre-64 Model 70, Unertl scoped, in .264 Winmag. and finally, FINALLY, kept the flyer out of my 20 round group through my M1A1NM to print .50MOA.

How does life get any better? I can't wait to see the AE, I'm really looking forward to it.

Glen, How proud you must be of your Son and Daughter. Thank them for me if you will for their dedicated service to America and the fight for freedom.

You are buying your Son a car and a rifle and your Daughter is spitshining your shoes.....Am I missing something here?

Glen, glad to here that everyone has made it home safely. I don't think most Americans give our servicemen and servicewoman enough credit. They are doing a great job.

Best Wishes,

Tracy

Mike wanted me to find the bronco and k98. He's paying for them with his reinlistment bonus (he starts sniper school next month, then off to Ranger school or maybe it's the other way round?). I just was tickled to spend some of my kids' money instead of the other way round! Donna has 6 more months of her deployment to do after her leave. I've never seen anyone more taken with the military than she is. If it won't fit in her kit bag she doesn't need it. Santa is remembering her. We've a dozen boxes stashed away to start shipping out (we've been advised the military may not guaranty delivery by Christmas if they go out after the 15th).
