Doug, I REALLY agree, I have several that just sit unread because people dont check them. How can we use this feature if people dont get in the habit of clicking on "my profile" at the top of the page to see if you have any messages. I have the "send me email" option to alert me when I have one. Thanks for bringing this up! At present I have unread messages to Tacfoley, Virg, Don and Tim. What is readily apparant is some people know how to send you a private message but they dont check the responses. "AK AK AK"

I have a couple that have already been read by the recipient as I have gotten a reply back, yet they still show up as unread. The messages are several days old, and I just left them to see if they would change.

I would imagine that they get the e-mail notification like I do, so they read it there and then delete it off of their My Profile area without opening it?

But then I almost always reply and so I think I would have to open it and reply? But maybe not in every case

That still leaves the problem of knowing if or where they opened the e-mail if no reply is required.

I "replied" to several from my email, before I realized that they weren't getting them because you have to respond from the "my profile" section. <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

Hugh is correct. If you receive email notification that you have received a private Lugerforum message... don't reply to the email message because it goes nowhere!
You must login to the Lugerforum and go to the My Profile Link at the top of the page to get to the actual private message and you can reply by using the link at the bottom right of the message... The private message thread is continued to be appended with each successive reply until one of you deletes the message without replying... Bet that is just as clear as mud - Huh? Anyway don't reply to the email notification because the sender won't get it.
