Default Shot my La-22 Erma "Luger" the other day

I had to get mine out after the dissusion last week about these pistols.

Mine shoots good tight groups, 1" or less at 25 yards if

I do my part. It is very ammo sensitve. The ammo it liked best was Winchester "Super-Maxx" . The guys at the range

say its not made anymore. Some of the best groups I've ever shot with my 1917 DWM Artillery were right after I had shot this pistol.

The finish on my gun is in bad shape, any suggestions on

how to strip the rest of the paint without melting the

zinc or whatever pot metal this thing is made of?

TIA

I would imagine if you read the paint stripper warnings on some of the brands they will say what they are bad for and what they can be used for. It is hard for me to imagine that any of the strippers would damage the metal enough. But if you start on an unexposed area, under the grips and test the stripper ahead of time, then you can see if any damage would occur.

In ref to shooting best after the .22. I read a story years ago, that the Rhodesian (sp?) combat pistol shooting team had major problems in obtaining ammo, but they dry fired, practiced in holding, shooting and aiming and they came in the top five (I think they got 2nd or 3rd place) in a major US meet.

I used the method when I had time and it always improved my shooting before i went to the range.

Default Use a plastic media blaster.

Under low pressure it will remove the paint. We use it on thin aluminum on aircraft parts. With low pressure it won't damage anything. Just make sure that you blow everything out good after.
