Being the proud owner of a minty type 2 drum I couldn't wait to try it out. I loaded 20 rounds as that's about all you can fit without a loading tool (coming). Went to the range and burned them in short order out of my 1917 DWM Artillery. If you can find one I highly recommend getting it. It really does make it a bit more fun to shoot.

Fire off a whole bunch fast.

I did that once (well maybe more than once) with a Mini-14 and the Sherrif came over, wanting to know if I had a machine gun permit. Heh, heh.

Anyone know the story on the ten shot drum magazine being shown on ebay. The owner says it was built to hold only ten rounds and is without any interior components. Is this some sort of a repro?

were actually made in the 70's by MGC in Japan as part of Artillery Model replicas that were sold back them for about $60. They only held 10 rounds because it was too complicated to make the drums fully functional for the price that they were sold for. They were never intended to be used with REAL Lugers, and the fact that they hold real ammunition and will function in a REAL luger is merely coincindence... Occasionally eBay will have one of the guns for auction but they don't usually have the drum magazine because it was an option.

I doubt that they could be successfully "upgraded" to 32 round capacity, not to mention that due to the high-capacity magazine ban in 1994, it would be patently illegal (a federal felony) to do so.

If all you want is a "look-a-like" to go with your Luger, be my guest, but don't expect reliability on feeding. I doubt that these magazines would take the pounding of real shooting for very long.

These MGC drum will not even fit into a real luger without modification and the springs are usually so weak that they will not feed at all.
