I voted several times a week, but that wouldn't be the 'same" luger

How often do you handle any one of your Lugers from your collection is what I meant. So that would be fine

I read threads here every day, find that more rewarding than opening the safe to fondle with the Lugers.
Had to be 'Once a Week at the most' for me

As little as I need to, working with several members in their Weimar police Luger upcoming books so I have had occasion to get them down off the wall, but for the most part I never mess with them but once in while...

I voted once a week at most but that was hard to decide, guns that I have had and researched, very little unless some new information appears.
Now guns I recently purchased, that is a totally different story: maybe two or three times a week for several weeks until I have every detail burnt into my mind.
Then I start thinking; I need another luger

Every day before I go to sleep I count my Lugers, hoping that someday I will find that extra Luger I always wished

Alf, maybe you have all girl or all boy lugers, or they were "fixed" before you got them

Only when i add a new one to my collection or when I remove one from the safe to put up for sale.

I voted several times a week. It's at least that often. But that's how often I inspect and admire just about all of my guns, not just the Lugers.

Hmmm. I was wondering how that "Baby Luger" got in there...

Nice setup Steve, I am still not decided how should I display my toys. Maybe others can give some advise on this

I can vouch for Steve's method of supporting his guns with a rod in the barrel. There are several variations of this, I do recommend coating them with rubber or at least putting electrical tape on the rods to prevent scraping.
This method allows for storage in very tight spaces ( hidden wall storage) I also recently modified a regular gun safe using this method to allow storage of several more handguns in the upper part above the long guns.
If you live in a humid area, this method allows for good air circulation and I have never had a problem with rusting because of condensation.

Do a search on the forum, some other ideas out there too

Well, there is one I fondled every night through Christmas season; an early 1900 with an inscription on the side in German of "Merry Christmas 1903", and the recipient's name.
It was hot salt reblued in 03 after the inscription was done, and the temps caused the whole gun to turn plum colored.
It is charming, my purple Christmas Luger.
I love it a lot and it speaks to me.

Thanks, Alf! I'm always trying to improve details for display and recently added the shelves. My thought was to make some of the standard "Luger Stands" and set them all on the shelf. I'll keep you posted on how that comes out...

Yup, that's what I do. First I cut them down to size and wrap them in electrical tape. Then I dip them with some "Dip-It", the rubber coating stuff found in hardware stores. That seems to protect the barrels nicely.

Very cool! What an awesome heirloom to have at Christmas!

Just wanted to say I love your Luger racks, Steve.
Great idea, and keeps them very accessible.
I may look into doing something like this.
Thanks for posting the pic.
And you have a baby Luger!
Cute Krink too.
Utterly cool!

Thank you, Anna. The Baby was built by fellow forum member, Hugh Clark. I'm very proud to own it. I just got it back from Bill Adair who did a fine job of a restoration reblue in it since it was still in the white when I got it. Hugh and Bill are both fine crafstmen...

I'm glad you like the Krink too. It's actually not built just yet since I'm still waiting for the paperwork to come back from BATFE for an SBR. I kinda mocked it up to show a friend what it will look like when it's done. I'm going to gold plate it too and I've already inset a Second Amendment Task Force medallion into the foregrip. Bling, bling, Sadaam Hussain style...

The AKs in the top of the pic are pistols. 7.62x39 handguns... ain't life great!

BTW, your collection is just amazing. I drool with each picture. Please continue to bless us all with your contributions. They make my day...

I suppose so, Ed. I just can't wait for the day when I can snatch the .30 Luger cartridge from your hand, though...

I just love the setup aswell, interesting combo of guns you and into eh? Stubby AK's and Lugers, that's a new one. Do you customize these AK's yourself?
