Tom Armstrong Passed Away Today
I am sorry to bring this news. My close friend and fellow collector LTC Thomas Armstrong passed away this morning at approx 11:00 hours while in the hospital from complications. Tom has always been outspoken advocate for our rights, a kind, considerate and a true friend to everyone that I know.
I will keep everyone informed or George Anderson will inform us of the arrangments. I will truely miss him. |

Sad to hear. I had met him at a NAPCA meeting a few years ago and also t SOS. Also had a few dealings with him
A gentleman and a person whose word was his bond and whose word was accurate.

The man knew Navy Lugers better than anyone I know. He was always ready to help anyone willing to learn about them. Thus passes a great warrior for our freedoms. I will truly miss my friend Tom.

A sad day and a great loss for his family and for the Forum. Tom was always willing to share his extensive knowlege with those of us less informed and he will be missed.

A sad day for his family and friends, and a great loss to the Luger collecting community. Tom and I had lunch many times, and I know what a quiet hero he truely was.
He was a great behind the scenes advisor to many rookie collectors. He shall be greatly missed by all who knew him.. George, please keep us all advised on Tom's funeral arrangments. Thank you Ed, for getting the news to us so quickly. May God bring peace and comfort to his family as they cope with his loss. -John |

He will be missed.. In our talks about Kriegs - I valued his enthusiasm and has ability to quickly learn and appreciate that variation. He was an impassioned collector and quick to share that same enthusiasm with other collectors.
His was a cornerstone to all that collecting should be about - and is... Prayers to Cathrine and the surviving family... Gods speed, Tom, my friend... John |

I am saddened by the news of Tom’s demise. His keen mind and wry wit added value to many discussions on the forums. I know that his legacy will be that for years to come when his grizzled friends gather together in the evenings after gun shows, his name will bring smiles to our faces and frequently a lump in the throat may be quickly subdued with an adult beverage as a toast in his honor. I have no doubt that in the future some new collector will display a pristine piece and proudly announce that “this was once in the Tom Armstrong collection”. As Taps sound for our former comrade in arms let us rejoice that we knew him and know that he will be there to welcome us home one day. Our prayers go with him and his family that loved him.
