Post Dismantling tool marking.

Hello,

I have a dismantling tool (hope you all know what i mean by this?) which is marked eagle/63. Same type of marking as on my 1936 P08.

Is this a normal and ok marking for a dismantling tool?

It's in a 1936 maker marked holster.

Kind regards,

Kris

Hi,

According to my sources (nice loading tools book, written by a dutch collector) depending on the eagle wing shape, the tool is a Mauser tool from 1935 - 1941.

The 1935/36/37 shape should have an eagle with it's wings pointing downwards

Hello,

Indeed, the wings are pointing downwards.

Is this book available inthe specialised bookshops or is ite a private edition? Could you provide me the title & author please?

Thanks a lot for the info.

Kind Regards,

Kris

Hi,

It's a private edition. I bought it from the author on a local militaria show in the Netherlands. I can check with him if he has additional issues available. If all goes well, I'll see him next sunday (same show).

His name is N.J. van Gijn (and is mentioned in the 'Dutch Luger' book as well).

Hello Again, Gerben,

Why not invite Mr. van Gijn to join us on the Luger Forum ? And even get him to post photos of his great Dutch collection ? I would suspect he has all sorts of great Dutch lugers...!

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Hi,

I'll mention it to him. He had some great stories to tell when I last saw him. He said he was responsible for finding back one of the first 10 'dutch model' lugers (it's pictured in 'The Dutch Luger). He bought it from a Frisian farmer who used it to chase his cows through the fields (with blanks ....

Hi,

Saw it. 1050 EUR for a Dutch "Marine" version.
Prices of lugers are quite acceptable on this auction site, though...
