Default Cleaning Mags

I have tried to find posts on this without luck. I have a nickel wood bottom magazine that I am trying to clean. It had a green tint to it. I was able to get most off with oil and some scrubbing. Still has a little tint to it. Any tricks on how to get this off or just some more scrubbing . Thanks

I like to use plain ole brake fluid to clean guns and parts. But if you can get some Ballistol, you might want to try it. It is a cleaner and oiler. Was invented by the Germans for their weapons. I had a difficult time getting dried blood from my hunting knife the other day. My grandson used it and the blood was on there for four days. Brake fluid did some good but was slow and arduous. With Ballistol, in just a couple of minutes, clean as a whistle.

Cavman, I would leave the verigris on. I like to see this as proof that the mag is a WW1 nickeled one rather than WW2 chrome. TH
