Default Help?

Hey Guys,

New to the board and just purchased my first luger. I have been wanting one for quite some time.

I have been searching the net to find the Star markings/inlay and cant seem to find any info. I was hoping you guys could help shed some light on my new purchase.

Thanks!

Can't find it right now, but didn't the Indonesians use a star mark on captured Dutch weapons?

Thanks for the responses guys! I haven't been able to find a single marking that resembles it; so that means two things; its really good, or its nothing special.

I love history and I just couldn't pass up a gun with so much historical significance. It defiantly wont be my last Luger that's for sure.

Just wish I could narrow down the guns history.

Russia, Japan... the USA... all used a five pointed star. Probably some other military's as well. It's anyone's guess as to what this meant to the fellow who put it there.

bump...

Hey guys, still searching for some info on this gun, its not a 9mm but rather a 30 luger. Any help or information on the origin of the star on the front would make my day!

How about some close-ups of the star, as well as other markings. And the full serial number and suffix. That might give us something to talk about. Don't suppose you can see any trace of date in/under the star?

Also, am I seeing the DWM logo in white or is it also in gold?

If you were to look under the "Technical Information" section on this forum at the "Logo4" ID sheet, there is an image of the star stamped over the chamber of a DWM. I think it says "South American Contract".
