God! There is some real good computer advice on this thread. I am going to save this thread for future reference. I just got a new Mac computer and have some problems with an Excel spread sheet and I am now learning something about PDF files. Thanks guys.

I had concerns about the thumb safety too. I thought that it may have been blued too until I read this discussion. I will leave the thoughts about the fit of the left grip to the people here who are more experienced than I am.

The pictures of the take down lever clearly show that the serial number does not match.

So that now takes me to the bluing. I have never been able to detect the modern 'black' bluing from the beautiful 'blue/black' used during WW1 on Lugers. I always had to take the weapon out in the sunlight and compare the color of the bluing to a known authentic early Luger. In my case, this is usually an excellent 1900 AE that I have. (My famous 'Dung' Luger that I have previously written about on this forum). Sure, you can look for 'hallos' around certain parts serial numbers. But, over time, I have seen some real masterful artwork done by a very few restorers.

Anyhow, I still think that the price on this Luger is out of line. Even more so when you notice that the takedown lever is mismatched as was shown above. Lets not be too hard nosed on Simpson. He has a lot of Lugers for sale and he is human.
