I am going to take a look at this.

But wanted to know if anyone can ID this?? WW1/2 or other

Just an observation. Don't know what it is but it appears large enough for a Broomhandle Carbine. The leatherwork config appears to be similar to commercial leather carriers made in the 20's - 30's. Great thread. Thanks!

Mike,

It's a "Leg O' Mutton" shotgun case. I've got one just like it with a

Hans Kettner SxS 20ga shotgun in it. These were mostly pre war Europeon. Made for high quality shotguns. The object in the second photo is a muzzle cover / protector for a SxS shotgun. It has a specific name, but I can't recall off the top of my head what it is.

The toes look to be standard American late issue.

Like Ron says..."leg 'o mutton" for holding an English or American side-by-side.
