Word Germany on Magazines
I have search for some information regarding the word Germany on the bottom of magazines, at it seems that all threads refer to the Alphabet commercials and that probably they were replacement magazines. Fine.
Now my question is, are these magazines of that period only or they can be recently produced, Are recently magazines imported can have the word Germany stamped on them? If so how can one identify them from the original? Thanks for any information. Alf.

IMHO I agree that these were spare mags brought into the US between 1898 to 1923 when the import law changed to require products be marked "made in ---" (country of origina). If they had been in a complete pistol, the marking of the gun would have been sufficient. TH

Mecgar (current) is marked 'Made in Italy'.
MFT Netherlands (1970-1980s) is marked 'Made in Holland'. Products made in the post-WW2 timeframe may even have been marked 'Made in West-Germany'. |

Some of the postwar Interarms Mauser Lugers such as the Cartridge Counter commemorative came with "Germany" marked wood bottom magazines. Possibly Interarms sold some of them separately.
