+P ammo in 1904 Luger?
Does anyone know if +P ammo is safe to shoot in older Lugers? I have a 1904 Navy model that I'd like to take a hog with, and was wondering if +p is safe in it (or my other Lugers)

PL, If you do in fact have the M1904 Navy with the flat recoil spring and toggle lock, I'd be hesitant to shoot it at all. If in reality, you have the M1906 with the COIL recoil spring, I may be OK to shoot +P loads with a new 22 coil, heavy duty spring. TH

I still think that any 90 yr old collector piece is best not to shoot - if it is mismatched, reblued or the like, then that is another matter (I shot a 1913 luger framed mismatch yesterday)
NOTE: I have blown out a breachblock by using +p - it is not recommended by me, but that is because of personal experience. Rather than more oomph, I suggest something like the super expanding cartridges Or take a 45 or 44 mag for a feral hog If it is a 1904, then it is worth tens of thousands of dollars, in ANY shape....
