"LZ" on wood grips, numbers matching S/42 from 1936
I'm looking for some help identifying the LZ machine engraved marking on the inner(left side)wood grip of this 1936 S/42. all serial numbers match. ser is K1394. I have never seen markings like this on an original Luger. I have attached photos. please help if somebody has seen this before.

I would expect this to be hand carved by a previous owner. It doesn't look factory done to me. It is well done, but not issued this way IMHO.

It is a nicely done pantograph marking. Perhaps the personal sidearm of Ludwig Zündapp? Just kidding of course...I have no idea what it signifies but I am quite certain it is not a unit marking.

Thank you...these grips have become quite the mystery. I appreciate the response. I figured it might be something somebody personally may have done to the grip of this gun..
