Hi Chris,
It looks like the real deal to me as does the tool, pictures of the holster aren't good enough to make a determination. If I was a Kreighoff collector I'd go 5K for it, but then I'm a gamblin man. Norm |

I am sure the price will go up. As a shooter it is worth more than that, and it is pretty.

Better photos would probably help, if it's really as nice as it seems to be the final price will be higher.

Easily a $5k pistol, if not more! John D. might be able to give you a better assessment, as he is a KH collector.

I am no expert, but does the 1936 look pantographed? Maybe it is just the lighting?

The 1936 is not pantographed. The 3 has sharp 90 degree corners which a pantograph cannot do.

If I lose on this one, should I go for the 1937 with a turkey vulture proof on the mag and SS runes on he barrel lug?

Well, looks like the 1936 has been discussed on the other forum and it has allegedly been refinished.

I disagree with those guys. The "thumbprint" on the rear frame is clearly visible and the E/2 on the right frame rail looks like it has been stamped through the blue, as is proper. Given the poor quality of the photos buying this gun would always be a bit of a gamble as I said in post #2. I have no connection with the seller or the buyer and I don't collect Krieghoff's, if I did I would have most likely taken a chance on it.

The right side barrel proof is the one that is supposed to be through the bluing on this gun - NOT the frame proof .
This is well covered in pics on the other forum . I am not aware of ANY EL/2 acceptance stamps that are through the blue . The right side barrel proof is an eagle - Not an EL/2 . |

This is the only luger I have ever seen with a stamp on the frame under the usual acceptance stamps. Is that unique to HK's ?

Normal on HK's .
It is the acceptance into inventory proof for parts . BTW the receiver , barrel and frame being the same color is a HUGE red flag . |
