P08 web holster, Afrika Korps, late war???

I just got this holster, look unissued, pistol fits inside absolutely perfectly, so does the magazine. It's very tight fit, looks 60 years old, smell 60 years old... but I never saw such a model before. Anyone here has an idea?

I hope you did not pay much for it. It is a fantasy holster. That 60 year old smell is CAMEL dung

These have been appearing on eBay recently on a regular basis. I know of NO period photographs of this holster. I believe it is entirely a fake and agree with Russ.
One other interesting detail of this holster is the steel roller buckle. The Germans made their buckles with very distinct sharp corners. This one is too rounded to be original. Jerry Burney

Another give away is the location of the buckle strap. Mounted very low on the holster. Just my opinion, but it could be an authentic Luger holster. Just not a German issue. Probably more Eastern Europeon surplus stuff.
Maybe Lower Slobovia was preparing to invade Ethiopia at some point. And realized that the Babes did'nt have hairy legs, or mustaches. A major turn off.

Ron, the guy I bought it from just answered my email. He bought two of this Holster in Bulgaria, and he certify me they are authentic. As you say, authentic maybe, but not german. It's taking the way back anyway. I trust you guys more than any seller who's happy to get rid of something.

I do not doubt its Bulgarian origin, but I do have misgivings about how old it is. It is probably brand new and has been artificially aged. There is a real cottage industry in Bulgaria now turning out holsters. That is one reason so many mint examples are showing up on eBay. They are taking the hardware from trashed out old holsters and mounting them on new leather and selling them as mint originals. Once they have made a pattern for leather holsters, it would be a simple matter to cut out canvas material and create a "rare" holster. Beware. There are authentic WWI/WWII Bulgarian holsters being sold, but if it looks brand new, chances are it is.
