The seller is "quite certain" this is an airship or naval (signals) holster. If he has some factoid that reveals such origins, he should explain what it is because many collectors would like to know the secret to identifying airship holsters.

Why would he say "quite certain" and provide no evidence to support such a claim?

Nothing about the holster supports that claim as far as I can tell. It looks like a nice condition WW1 luger holster of standard military origins.
