Holster ID ?

This is my first post here and I am somewhat new to Lugers. I have a Luger holster that has a brass stud closure for the flap, and the holster also has a place for a cleaning rod on the side. It has a pocket beside the cleaning rod for a tool that looks similar to a punch. Inside the flap there is a place for a loading tool. The loading tool and punch where still in the holster. The only markings on the holster is an A.E on the inside of the holster. There was a 1906 American Eagle Luger laying with the holster and I thought this holster might belong to that Luger. I will post pictures if I can get my digital camera to work. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Amos,

Welcome to the Luger Forum...

Look forward to your photos. With the AE stamping, it is for a M1906 Portuguese luger with 4-3/4" barrel...not the AE luger. MOst AE stamped holsters I have seen in person and in books have the AE on the outside, back of the holster. Please take a close-up photo of your holster with its AE on the inside.

If you switch to the Member Gallery, you will see some photo albums of other AE holsters, as well.

Amos, Welcome to the Lugerforum... If the holster you described has an "AE" stamped on the inside, it is very likely the mate to a Portuguese Luger... and not the American Eagle that you found it with. Please post photographs of the holster for confirmation of this. You can find the tutorial for uploading and posting photographs at the top of our Site Help & Feedback forum...

Thanks for the info guys but I can't seem to get my camera to work properly and it is just about to drive me insane. I did find a picture of a 1906 Portuguese Holster however and that is exactly what I have. Thanks for all of your help.
