Luger Magazines
I am new to the forum and have a question--is there a data base of Luger magazines? I have 1937 S/42 #6401 v and 1939 42 #1721 z. Information on the possible existence of these magazines as well as a source of magazines will be appreciated.

Tom, Don used to keep a listing that he sold (to make it self sustaining) to match up mags and lugers, I beleive that he has finally quit doing it after 20+ years.
In this same section is a matching service also. see the sticky at the top of the listing. Welcome to the forum, ed |

Don Hallock, there is a rumour he is putting out another listing soon.

Don Hallock used to have a buddy who kept a data base on all the mags that Don had in his magazine listings. This guy would charge a small fee to look up the serial number and could tell you if your mag was ever on any of Dons listings and who had that magazine at one point of time. I think that I had two matches on serial numbers when I got Dons lists, but then realized that they were aluminum bottoms for WW1 lugers that I had. Oh well, I got excited for a short while.

These lists seem to have fallen into disfavor, bcause the improbability of ever finding a correct match is too formidable. You have about the same chance of winning a state lottery as finding the exact mag you need.
