Default my K-date after rust-blueing

i told so much about it, here is my first pic after rust-blueing it. the original mauser-grips are from catofong? in the usa. looking great, or? i'm proud on my vopo-k-date.

what do you think? of course isn't it original after restauring, but i like it so.

Default Well done Dieter...

I don't think I would have had the nerve to tackle such a job myself.

yes, you're right. i tried it for two times, it is not as easy as it seems. but i have only one gun-smith in an area of 100 km who was able to do rust-blueing, a pity. and he wanted nearly 300 DM (1/3 of gun price) without any guarantee of succeeding. so i tried it on my own, bought the ingredients (those which took DWM in the ww I-time)in a pharmacy. the first time i had not a good surface and some places where shining through. so i removed the rust-blueing again and the second time it worked. maybe it is not as perfect as those restaured here in the forum, but for my first time it is ok. wouldn't have it done at a collectors piece, of course. but i think that my vopo looks good and i like it.
