Default Lugers are AMAZINGLY accurate

The gun I fired today has a reasonable looking bore, I would rate it very good and I fired two groups at 20 yds.

First 5 went into 1.5" and second group of 3 went 0.7" with two in the same hole! This is a std 4" barrel Military model. These guns are amazing! I am ALSO doing an Artillery for Don Leverty that has a brand spanking new 8" barrel, cant wait to see how it shoots! Thor

And old load of Unique powder and a Winchester hollow point! The load was rather warm and functioned fine! The hollow point was 115 gr and rather long. These were old rounds I had laying around for a couple of years, but I can say they were decidedly hotter than std pressure loads. Go figure! I also blasted the hell out of Bin Ladens face (a target of course, with an AK-47 which seemed appropriate as I prefer the AK to my AR-15 (which might be even more appropriate)) felt wonderful!! ~Thor~

These were from firing a mismatched Luger a S/42 1940 dated Nazi Era Luger with a barrel from another Luger. ~Thor~

Default Really Excellent..!!!

Amazing Ted..!!! I know when DOK and I went to the range, his shot extreamly well... The reason I asked about the loads is that I'm trying to get the time to set up my reloading area again (once the house is finished - in case Jen is reading this ) so I'm trying to see what folks find "works well" and doesn't for loads to work from...

Nice pics!! Thanks!

That is good shooting Thor!

My shots are usually within 1" of all the other shots.

One shot here, another an inch away, another an inch away...

Ed, I dont normally shoot this well, must have just a lucky day! usually around 3-4" is the norm for me. Dok's gun shot great and I have a shooter that I am fixing up that shoots phenomenally well also. Lugers are pretty amazing guns. They shoot great and look great doing it! ~Thor~

Default OK, you shamed me into it...

Here is one of the targets I saved from my trip to MA. For a reference, the "9" ring is 4 and 3/4" in diameter, the "10" ring is 3" in diameter and the "X" ring is 1 and 1/2" in diameter. I'm very pleased with The Jewel's accuracy. I can assure you any lack of accuracy is due entirely to me.

And your no slouch at the range either - I'd know

BTW: Why didn't you post the picture of the other target - where I don't remember shots straying out of the 10 ring.. Did we/you save those targets??
