Post LUGERFORUM.COM....

Just thought I'd ask - but I just got a notice from Verisign/NSI that the Domain Name of "LUGERFORUM.COM" is up for renewal, as it expires in a couple of months (January - I think?). I was wondering if there would be any interest in having it renewed?

Well, we could ask for a new name, like JohnD.com or IwishIcouldaffordaLuger.com or lugersRus.com

Can I send you some money to re-register or a lottery ticket?

Or simply say, darn nice job and this is a great place to be. Lots of other places that I could surf to, and this is more fun and better for the marriage!

Actually - I was thinking of "KRIEGHOFF4ME.COM" - but based on the way some folks spell KRIEGHOFF - I was afraid not everyone could find it

On a serious note though - thanks for your kind and geneous offer, but to be honest, the cost of renewing the Domain Name isn't too bad. I just extended it for 3 years for $75 - which in comparison to the monthly operating costs of operating/hosting/programming/etc. websites is minimal. So - my thanks for the offer Ed!! - but instead, next time we meet - just buy me a beer (or a Luger)

You're on, you can take your pick while at Ralphs. Of a beer, not a Luger

And I bet that G.T. will pop a top for you too!

I know I speak for the forum when I say THANKS John D.

Your generosity doesn't go unnoticed...

I can see a steak dinner with your name on it if we can ever manage to be in the same place...

Wish you had time to pop in to the forum more often... but if you can't at least check your email and private messages now and then

I appreciate all also, where else would it be possible for someone like me, especially from Alabama, to annoy so many so easily and all at the same time? That just don't happen often.

Hi Folks...!!

Well - I didn't post this note to solicit your Thank you notes - but they are much appreciated, perhaps more then you might imagine... Rather, I posted it just to be sure you can put up with John S., DOK, Tom A., Ed T., Thor, Ron W., Pete E., Derek S., Jerry B., and Steve S. (I hope I got everyone!!!!) as your LugerForum Moderators.....

Seriously - I really enjoy the community you have developed within this small slice of the Internet. And for that - I'm equally as proud and delighted I'm in a position to be able to provide it from a technical and hosting basis.

But in truth - without all of you - who contribute to this same community we call the "Luger Forum" each and every day - it would be nothing more then an empty shell and a meanless domain. Rather it is much more then that. Witness many of the threads and comments - most recently when this community brought Schwob(Bob) into their prayers and thoughts....

All those things are to each your credit - certainly not mine. So, in fact - my thanks are to all of you for building this site beyond what many, including me - might have ever envisioned...

Oh - my one comment about the site? Where are all the Krieghoff threads??!!!!

John D.

Regarding the Krieghoff Forum and the scarcity of postings... I just figure that those folks that have them KEEP them and don't want to talk about them much... and those of us who don't have them... well, we are just waiting for one of you to decide to take a loss on a few of them... John D.

Words are inadequate to express my appreciation for the service you have so graciously provided to the toggle-top collecting fraternity. If you would so kindly by private email send me your snailmail address, I would like to send something to you.

T'chuss,

Tom A
