Default Lugerr markings.

I have a 1936 Mauser Luger with four circles in a square shape to the left of the serial number on the frame and the slide.

This is somewhat like it, with no space between. It looks a bit like a four leaf clover.

This is found on a pistol supposedly imported from East Germany in 1986 or '87 but with all the original pre-war markings intact.

Anyone have any ideas?
