Post A Mis-Match Curiosity

I recently received the 1910 shooter from Double T and will post a description and photo later today. I had assumed from his description that this was a mis-matched, re-barreled gun - not quite. The barrel/receiver assembly and all related parts match #5989b, the frame assembly and all related parts match #3569b. The close proximity of serial numbers suggest that both are 1910 production. Apparently, at some early point, the receiver assembly was swapped with that of another Luger. Has anyone else encountered a situation like this? KFS

Red face

Not on the same scale of being so close to numbers, but my 1940, my brother now has (in Owners Corner), has the same thing. Totally matched top and totally matched bottom. Appears to me to have the same bluing.

Either GI's sitting around (either side) were cleaning and put them togther wrong or in a huge area where guns were being checked for sale to the US, the wrong parts got swapped on or changed due to a problem with two diff guns?
