Thanks, Thor!
All,
I've known Thor for more years than I'd care to count, but had never had a need for his restoration services - until lately. I've been rooting around in the gun safes, looking for things I acquired during my collecting years that I don't and won't shoot, to move out via consignment at a local shop. I'm finding things I haven't seen in decades and had completely forgotten I had. One of these things was a 1936, S/42 Luger, picked up by a dear friend as a gift for me, back in the day when the world was a different place. 1936 S/42 Luger. Reworked in the DDR. Provided to communist insurgents in an Arabian peninsula country as military aid. This gun saw little to no use as 9 mmP ammunition was hens' teeth at that time and in that place. But spending a lot of time in a very hot and dry desert environment had just about turned its blue into a dark grey. And so it was off to Thor for restoration, and he did a beautiful job. Rust blue, straw parts properly strawed, fire blue parts properly fire blue, corners still sharp (or as sharp as the East Germans left them), marking still sharp. Thank you, Thor, for a truly outstanding job! Now some pics of the restored Luger: |
