Thanks...I'm a happy camper with this purchase. If I can find one or two more in this condition with History, I might indulge myself again. I find the WWI lugers with all the markings more interesting that WWII. If I can find ones with the best of both era's as this one turned out, I could become an addict real easy. I wouldn't be losing anything because they are all inheritance for my kids.

I have all the other WWII occupational pistols I need, I've never been a fan of P-38s.

I pick it up Tuesday. This makes two MG Unit marked pieces, I'm going to mount them on an angle facing each other with a pickelhalb helmet in the middle. Should be a nice display, then I'll go after one (1) early nazi police pistol to display between my two police shakos, one municipal, one rural. I have promised myself to quit after that.

Picked up my 1916 DWM today. I found it almost identical in condition as my 1915, hardly any difference at all. All numbers match except for the wooden base mag. Was also a MG unit issue but is not a police rework, barrell is excellent and under the grips the mag chute is mint. Mag is somewhat tarnish.

Looks like the bug has really bitten...
Send some close-ups of the unit markings, as I'm sure someone here will have a close neighbor.
Very nice.

M.G. TR. 9. K.

My guess is Machine Gun Trupe 9 K company....if that is somewhat close, there isn't much history that I could find. MG Trupe 1 thru 6, yes but higher, no.

I haven't been able to find much on the first MG 1915.

About end of Feb I'll be in the market for a 38-41 Nazi era Police K-issue, after that I'll have the three I wanted and I'll have to move on.

Default mag safety still in place ....

gents,
as NoncomRetiered asked for pictures of an intact mag. safety, i'm proud to show .....
NoncomRetiered, check the detail how the trigger and the mag safety gears into each other.

regards from austria, wolfganggo ......

Nice. I've seen some of these where the part that goes under the trigger was welded back on, but this one look right. I just wonder if it allows full trigger movement when a mag is installed? This is why most were removed. TH
