Default Q: Armorall for the rails?

Maybe it's a weird idea; but since Armorall apparently has more "slicky" than just about anything, I wonder if applying it to a gun's rails would be suitable; and/or if it would be contra-indicated?

As long as they are still selling regular lubricants, I would avoid using something designed for automobile tires. Who knows what is actually in the stuff. Could be corrosive over the long term.

Default Correct...

I used to use Armorall to put a gloss on the Goodyear Gatorback tires mounted on my '92 Stealth Twin Turbo. After about 3 months of use... the sidewalls exhibited silver streaking from the bead to the tire's tread. It was apparently leaching the aluminum out of the wheels. I strongly recommend EEZOX as the ultimate CLP for all firearms.

Depends on how you use your Luger.

But, seriously; since Armorall is so slicky, I wondered if it was suitable to lubricate the rails. I spilled some on the floor in our front hall and even though I tried to get it all up, we slipped and slid for a couple of months.
