Default Spell Check

Is there a way to spell check messages before posting. Since I am one ot he worst spellers and sometimes spell like I talk it is embarrasing.I know I could use a dictonary but takes to long.

We do indeed have a spell checker (that's the good news), the bad news is during the tests we made on new forum before we put it live, it was found to interfere with the automatic return to the index after a posting. The spellchecker actuially sent you to another site, and it was those links that were hanging up.

So we made a somewhat unilateral decision that we would forego spellchecking seeing as how everything else was working so well. There is a PREVIEW button and the bottom of the screen when posting a message, and most of us use that to preview our message prior to posting to catch most of the mistakes. If I can ever find the time to re-look at it again, I'll see if the problem is still there. Until then, look at the bright side, yew caint possubly be wurs then Hugh Clark wen he duz hiz ****ry spellin'!!!

Default An Easy Spell Check...

Hi Tracy..!

Don't let the lack of a "spill chicker" get you down Seriously - DOK is correct that when we were doing the programming and development, it would cause the Board to hiccup... I believe it was the fact that the spell checker linked to a 3rd party site (which is common for Boards) - and if that spell checker server was busy, performance suffered.. Also, you didn't have to be spell checking a document for your browser to have these "hiccups" - it happened on a regular basis...

When I want to make an "miztake free" post, simply write your post in your favorite word processor w/a spell checker - then "COPY & PASTE" it into the Posting Form on this Board... Since I rarely say anything importantant, I hardly ever need to check the spelling on my posts..!!

Best Always,

John D.
