Default what is this part on my P08?

It's a 1929 DWM sneak. There is a ledge above where the sear bar sits and on top of that there is a "bent clip thingy" that can slightly swivel on a pin towards the back. A pinhole can be seen towards the front when it is swiveled out which lines up with a pinhole in the sear bar below it.

I'm guessing it is a type of lubrication point cover. Is it removable? Asking because I'll be taking it in to get the Chrome plating taken off and don't know if this particular part was plated while in place or as a separate part.

Thanks!

If it is what I think you are describing, it is a police sear safety.

bigcurefan,
If you really want to know about this, put up some photos. Then we can see the situation, and make reasonable comments about it. Thanks!

Yep, that's it. Seems to be riveted in, so I'm not going to mess with it. Thanks!

Here's a little aid to help in times like this, when you're unsure about whether something is functioning correctly or not...

That chart is a little like basic training instructions...if it moves, salute it...if it doesn't move, paint it.
