Easy way to clean Luger grips from grease & dirt> put it into tolen for several hours and then clean with toothbrush.

Easy way to repair straw/colored parts> Remove rust or dirt and polish the piece. Than with electic hot/air gun about 280/330 Celsius grades slightly heat up. Test it on common piece of steel.

1000 x tested. Yours Jan

Ted told me about that when I got my First Luger.....it REALLY works! Don't however be in a hurry. It does take time, but very well worth it! Don't be afraid to do it, It DOES come out great!

I'm sure that this is a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway. It's like when I read Ted Green's instructions about cleaning grips and I got to the part that said to coat them in a light coat of boiled linseed oil. I actually wondered if I had to buy linseed oil and then boil it! So, what in the heck is "tolen"?

Tolen is a solvent/thinner that can be purchased at most paint stores. You probably can get your Linseed oil there too, already boiled

Thank you! I did find the already boiled linseed oil at the harware store and was quite relieved since Ted had not supplied a recipe with his otherwise succinct instructions.

a very highly flamable liquid hydrocarbon great for cleaning up stuff, but not entirely friendly to you or the environment.
