Default Shipping a long gun

Greetings,
Can anyone shed some light on the question of whether or not it is legal for a non FFL holder to ship a 22 rifle to a C&R holder or FFL holder? The rifle is very old and is C&R eligible.

Thanks,
Mike

You can ship to any FFL any gun except title 2 guns, (NFA). A C&R you can ship any gun on the approved C&R list. Best method is UPS or Fedex with a copy of the C&R in hand.

I Have shipped about 40 long guns to 01 dealers this year ( I am also an 01 dealer) so far. I always ship USPS Priority insured with delivery or signature confirmation. It may be a little more spendy (or not) than UPS or Fedex, but I have lost confidence in these due to rumors of theft. I have never had an item lost or damaged. The packages go coast to coast in about 4 days. By Parcel Post it would be 5-7 weekdays. Less time in the system, less chance of problems. Dealers must submit form 1508 at the Post office for their files (lists your biz name, signature, your city, state, zip and address it is going to.

Good Luck Mr. Phelps...

A long gun is fine, but the USPS will not allow a non-licensee ship any type of pistol, C&R or not..
