first post and first Luger buy

hello all
just a note about my self. ive been collection surplus weapons for about 10 or so years and I finely bought my first Luger. im not really familiar with this weapon so this was a spear of the moment buy.

I was looking into a shooter from century and they where going for 799.00 for a R/C redipped so for a couple hundred more I can get this.

I sure hope I did good.
so what do you guys think?

Welcome to the forum. That is a mismached gun!! not worth the money...I am sure some one on the forum can make you a hell of a lot better deal than that. With the money that you will save buy a BOOK.

Try and get your money back. See if he will take the gun back. Nobody here wants to see you get screwed. Try and learn from others mistakes. ask alot of ????????????????? there is never a dumb question. The gun in my opinion was misrepresented

auctually i have a friend a work that wants it if i dont want it. he collects bring back weapons (with paperwork) so i just might sell it to him for what i paid for it.

Did the paper say ( No serial ID ) ?. Paper adds like 10%. I think a paper like that is in itself is worth something. It is wrong, yes. If the pistol shoots good and acceptable to you, keep the shooter and sell the paper for a few bucks. It bums me out to say this, but in 40 yrs, this is what is going to be done to our stuff.

Granted that the gun is way overpriced, I just don't see where the seller made any outright misrepresentations. The photos clearly show this to be a parts gun, and if the document is authentic it probably arrived here from overseas as a complete mismatch. I think the photos tell all.

Rarity is in the eye of the beholder. Anyway, such a parts gun accompanied by a capture document is very rare, don't you think?

The 735th ROB is tentatively planning to hold a 50th reunion at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minn. im going to see if there was a guy named Joseph Henderson with the 735 in apr 25 1945

Whos2kno, when you visit the Mall of America, you might also ask if the owner of the pistol, (Leonard Lee or Leonard Lea) who is noted on the capture paper as the owner of the pistol was in the unit.

1LT Joseph Henderson was the officer who signed off approving return to the United States by Leonard Lee or Lea of the pistol.

i should have the pistol saturday or monday

i know i did not do good but this only means that i need to buy a few more to get the cost down

but before that "research" first

Take a good look at those capture papers! They look to good to be 65 years old. Ink is very dark and crisp, and dosent look to have been folded all that much?
Looks suspect to me (just my oppionion)
