My numbers don't match!

Several months ago I purchased my first P08 luger! Being that I didn't know much about them at the time, I didn't relize it didn't have all matching numbers. Actually it had about 3 different number markings on it. This particular Luger is in fair to good shape as it is. Not to drag this question out any further, but is this gun still worth a darn thing for the simple fact that it has non-matching numbers or is this a frequent acurrence w/these pistols (numbers not matching)?

You see many, many guns with non-matching numbers.

When you say 3 different sets of numbers, can you explain more?

I mean, you should have the number on the frame (front by the trigger guard), then you should have it as the last two of the serial number on many assorted parts.

Then if you meant what you said, and its not matching, well, it is considered a shooter or representative piece for a collection, meaning, you have a real Luger and others don't,

Depends on how much you paid? Anything less than $550 is reasonable now-a-days,

The lower reciever serial # is 926, all the pieces on the lower reciever have the # 26 stamped on them(grips,trigger,etc.). The Barrel has the # 1822 stamped on the underside of the barrel and all the pieces attached to it have the # 22 on them. The bolt has #99 stamped on all its pieces.

I bought the pistol for about $425.00 so its not like I feel that I got shafted on the price. The pistol is very clean, accurate, and has never had any malfunctions! So to say the least I'm still in love with the gun despite finding that my numbers don't match.

USMC, you have a completely mismatched Luger made up of parts from at least three different guns as evidenced by the serial numbers. However, the good news is that it functions reliably and - even better - you paid on the low end of the scale for a shooter. You've done well and have learned a lot to boot.
