Post Magazine Question

My uncle Gerald has an odd Luger magazine it's proofed E/37 and has 122 (on the side) which are the first 3 numbers of the serial # Are these odd markings? I've never saw an E/37 proof before......

Best Regards,Brandon

Hi Brandon, all center pin Mauser magazines have the E/37 Marking and are Haenel Manufactured. They come in several varieties, but are marked either 122 or fxo, which are Ordnance Codes for Haenel. They (122) are proper magazines for most of the 1940 Code 42, the early 41, Code 42's and some byf 41's. The fxo's are proper for some 41 Code 42's, most of the byf 41's and all the byf 42's
