30 luger snap caps

Where to find them? I did make my own from once fired caes using pencil eraser for firing pin hit. Would like to buy 'real' snap caps tho.

If you do find a source, let us know. I have never found 7.65mm snap caps.

I have a spent .30 Luger casing which I keep in to work as a de-facto snap cap, but I rarely use it for my .30 Luger which I consider collectible. I usually just do the de-cocking procedure with it instead to minimize the risk of damaging or breaking the springs and/or firing pin.

I need some snap caps to check the magazine's feed and to teach my Grandson how to safely load a luger.

Ah. Yeah I suppose you could load the mags with 9mm but you couldn’t teach him how to chamber a round

Take the striker/firing pin assembly out and practice away.

Many/most snap caps don't fare well in a magazine or feed well anyway. JMHO.

I made my own.

Used old casing, removed the spent primer.
Filled half of the casing with hot glue, then filled the primer space again with hot glue.
When cold trimmed away the excess glue primer side to make it flush.
Added a 3d printed bullet. You could use a normal bullet, but I like the red, plastic one for added safety(no mix up)

when the "primer" is damaged by the pin hitting, takes quite a few, just add more glue and trim

Sadly, when I translate this page it says they now do not ship to the USA. Doing a Google search however with the product name reveals another site:

It would appear that these red plastic rounds are available in Europe; I hope someone finds a place that will sell/ship to the USA (I have all I need from the ebay site from when they used to ship to the USA). These red plastic jobs cycle perfectly in all my .30 Luger pistols.

In the past I have also purchased dummy rounds from the link in BogeyB's post. I modified them to secure the bullet tightly by putting a little solder in then heating with a torch. Be sure to verify length is correct before you solder. Also the soldering step discolors the case but you can shine it up again with emory cloth and add a silicone 'primer' after it cools. While the rounds I purchased have a hole in the side, for safety I would suggest marking them more prominently with some kind of color. I never allow any live ammo near my workbench but from certain angles these rounds look real and that makes me a bit uneasy. One more reason I prefer the red plastic ones.

Unfortunately they would not drop the VAT from the bill, not even after a phone call, so I gave up and went another way.
