Default magazine catch spring

I just got a new catch spring for my 1915 p-08 . spring was missing when i got gun, i spent some time trying to install it most of it looking in the shag when it flew, well i figured out the notch of the spring goes into the gun and other end into the catch, but my question is what do you start with and any tricks to getting it in.
any help or ideas would be great thanks

I use a wood tool, any strong wood Q-Tip cleaner will work....do not want to scratch anything, place the top in the slot of the mag catch, keeping pressure fron the other side so catch does not drop back out and with a wood tool depress the spring at the "dimple" and push it in....hope this helps
