Are all Grip Scews The Same?

Are they interchangeable as long as each goes to the respective maker? IE would a non proof Dwm fit any luger made by DWM? Would the same be true with an Erfurt marked screw fitting any Erfurt luger no matter which year or model? Does one screw fit all? Eric

That's odd...I went to gunparts.com to copy the three sizes (you know, to stimulate this conversation) and they only had one size listed now...I know they had three, 'cause I got all three sizes...

I had thought that when they discontinued an item, they just listed it as 'Sold Out'...And if they added something, they listed it as 'NI'...(Not Illustrated)...

That is sad...To delete an item as though it never existed...

Fit any luger , yes , but not same profil 1900 /1910 , etc
The curved profile is different since the period

Using two 1913, a Dwm and Erfurt I swapped each with the others grip screw and they both fit fine! ~~Eric

Lifer, The thread is about the same on all ORIGINAL PO8 grip screws with the exception of the 1970s Mauser Parabellums and the M29 Swiss. As mentioned above, the WW1 & earlier DWM & Erfurt screws will have a higher "dome" profile than the later Mauser screws. I have most original types in stock in the $10 to $15 range, as well as new ""Mauser type" repros @$5 each. Tom

I seem to remember Numrich offering different head sizes to try and address shrunken or loose grips that are found on many Lugers.

I remember that the screws I happened to use were absolutely interchangeable, the only Luger that I own with totally different screws is the AE Luger 1900 that you can see in my "awatar" (s/n 7234) which has different wooden grips altogether.

Although grip screws are functionally the same, you will find that the screwdriver slots change width depending on manufacturer and era, so a bit of care and attention is in order.
