Default Gun Shows with Luger appeal.

Can someone post a list of gunshows that MIGHT have a number of Lugers for sale/trade, etc; or other "historical" iron? (As opposed to the shows that apparently are aimed more at knife throwers and bow and arrow hunters than to collectors). Thanks, Ad.

Hi,

I understand that the summer show in Kansas City is going to be a good one. Lots of Lugers and lots of displays. It is July 27th through the 29th. I have always come away with a good two matching magazine rig there!

I have never been to the Kansas City show, but when I was going to the Ohio Gun Collectors Assoc. Shows, there were a LOT of Lugers there. These were the best shows I have ever been to.

Ralph has mentioned to me the Tulsa show, twice a year. The April addition had over 3800 tables. He said to go there if I wanted to see lots of Lugers-or come to his place of course! Thor

We are having a NORTH CAROLINA GUN COLLECTORS ASSOCIATION gun show in Charlotte July 28/29. This is my first year, and I don't know what to expect, but I will report on the availability or absence of Lugers there.

Ad, Even at the larger collector oriented shows, it's getting harder to find nice lugers at wholesales prices. I'm always looking for the vet or rifle collector that just has one luger on his table, but so is everyone else. Now days at the shows, your best selection is offer by those of us specializing in collectable German pistols, since we will purchase whole collections when we can and do guarantee them to be as advertised.

I usually go to the Ohio Gun Collectors Association show in Ohio but they are going to close that one down in a few years and move somewhere else. I can only hope that its in Northern Ohio.

I hear that the Louisville show in Kentucky is good and I want to try it. It frequently is on at the same time as the OGCA show so I have an excuse not to make the Kentucky show. I worked in Bowling Green, Ky for Chrysler for a couple of years and just loved the people down there.

I sold a Kreighoff to a guy in Penn and He told me that there is a terrific show in that state. But I have not taken advantage of that one yet.

I have heard that the Astodome in Texas has a good show. There used to be a terrific show in Pomona, California. But the socialist republic of Los Angeles kicked them out and so they went to Las Vagas. I have not heard yet if the new location is as fun filled as the old location. I have pictures of the show in Pomona and I would have liked to go just to see the costumes that the people wore.

Write off Michigan. The Grand Rapids show is big but not much in the way of lugers there. I just gave up on it.
