I emailed you info. on my 1920 com. but didn't get reply. I needed to add info. anyway. 30 cal. S# 3686 P. I think it's a "P" but the bottom of the loop is not closed. Possibly lower case "r". Looks more like a "P" to me. Upright C/N on barrel, left side of receiver and left side of breechblock. Germany on frame rail above takedown. Takedown #s are on bottom.Safety has GERICHERT, and is on in the down position. No grip safety. GELADEN on extractor. 3 7/8" barrel. Has stock lug.

Im not sure of the date on mine mabe a 1914. Its about 95% SN#85725 with germany under the sn on the front of frame. It has a upright crown ove n on left side and a horizontal one on the toggle and a vertical one over the sn under the barrel. The sn is on the bottom of the takedown and it is 30 cal with no grip saftey. No proof marks of any kind on the right side. Hope this helps clint

Clint,

Thanks very much for the report. It would be very unusual and noteworthy if this gun has a date on the chamber. Could you tell me, is it stamped GERMANY anywhere?

Seems I have found another one I didnt know I had SN# 5580 suffix L made in germany on left side of barrel no chamber mark DWM on toggle all numbers match in 30 cal. The small parts all seem to be numbered on the bottom. Wood bottom mag with no markings. has about 95% blue and 80% straw and the best halos around the numbers of any of my pistols. Anything you could tell me as far as date and value would be helpful. Thanks clint

Clint,

Thanks very much for the extra info.

Your 20DWM sn 85725 was made very early in 1921. In my database, sn 85260 is the last 1920-dated Commercial I have recorded, and sn 85473 is the first 1921 date recorded.

Your Alphabet Commercial sn 5580l was probably made early 1923. Over the last few years I have bought Alphabet Commercials for as little as $550, and realized as much as $750 in trade value. Only the best examples bring the higher prices, the value of these guns falls of sharply in lower condition. 20DWM are worth quite a bit more.

Jericho144,

Your post is pretty deep in a very specialized discussion. You will get a better response if you start a new topic in the "All P-08 Military Lugers" Forum.

Just to share with you, I have a 1921 DWM Commercial 9mm Luger. Serial # 86883. All parts same serial number.Handle has 18.R.10.16 I understand 18th Infantry Regiment, Company 10, weapon # 16(R is larger font, 18 and 16 are medium and 10 is a smaller font) It has the "Dove of Peace" Stamp 2 times on the right side of slide, and one on the Bolt.I believe this means it was a Weimar Weapon Depot Guard Weapon. Weapon was re-blued at some point. Bore is fantastic and it shoots excellent

Dwight,

I may have missed the start of all this.

I have 9639m. No AE. Upright C/N on left side under the numbers, C/N underside the barrel, but no barrel numbers or witness mark. There is one WM, on the frame. Possibly re-barreled? 7.65. Germany on the frame front, under the numbers. An odd breech. On the L. side is a lazy C/N stamped over an upright Erfurt eagle. Mid toggle another lazy C/N. All nos. match.

FN

Hi Dwight,
I'm new to the forum and have a 1920? commercial.
Not sure if this is what you're looking for?
But it has DWM on top & serial #1928. It has the nitro markings and a symbol almost like an elongated small "n" or "r" on the bottom barrel & in another place. Has Germany stamped on the side.
Hope the helps.

Dwight,

I have what I believe is a DWM Commerical Luger without a date on it but matched serial numbers 4051.

I didn't see that on your list. Any comments.

Thanks You so Much

Hello,

Recently acquired a an early DWM Commercial Luger, SN#13225, no proof marks, matching serial numbers on parts, DWM scroll on toggle, V and U marks on receiver bottom next to barrel indexing mark , no other marks. Would appreciate any possible info on the gun, like date of manufacture.

Dwight - I am new to Forum and wondering if you are still taking information. If so, I can provide details or you can see my post ("First Post - DWM 30 Caliber Luger") on October 29, 2013. I am amazed at the amount of work you did for that database. THANKS!
