Swiss Police Lugers?
I've just picked up my first Swiss Luger, a model 1906, serial number 12526, that I see is sometimes called a Swiss Police Luger as some, apparently were issued to police. My sources place production in 1910 by DWM. It has the cross in shield over the chamber.
It is not import marked but does have a privatization "P" stamped just under the frame serial number. All numbers match. I rate it at 95% - maybe better - with 95% or better straw. The magazine has the unnumbered wood base with metal disks inset. The bore is perfect. Is it perfect? Not quite. The original owner apparently had the rear sight notched square and the back of the rear toggle link behind the sight has been touched up but apparently with rust blue that matches the rest of the pistol. A link to the auction with pictures. Opinions? https://www.proxibid.com/Firearms-Mi...ation/55649537 It's better than the auction pictures show and I'm into it for $2,015 after fees and tax. The 1906 seems to command a bit more than the average 06/24 and 06/29. |
