Who is the producer of this magazine?

Hi,
I've just received this wonderful set of magazines.
There are no markings except the #

6659

and

6659 +

Who has a clue who manufactured it?
Any ideas?

Weimar? Vopo? Police? Swiss? From Norway? Somebody else, who?

They look like they may be repops but Im not sure,someone here knows.

They bear a very strong resemblance to my Haenel Schmisser # 2766 #2 E/L. But mine has only one pin in the bottom, a zig-zag spring, and a slightly different notch for the mag release.

I agree, I would say they are supposed to be weimar era schmeissers that someone redid the bottoms with new blank bases and for whatever reason put a 2nd pin in them; however, they do not look right, so I would say reproductions, perhaps the mexican ones or denmark, they both were done pretty well.

I`d say that these are new Krieghoff magazines. But where is the new gun...

These are Triple-K aftermarket magazines... they are the only aftermarket producer that uses two pins as I recall, but Mec-Gar may also have used this method.

Someone has stamped numbers into them, and may have replaced the original bottoms with new aluminum. IMHO, these are not original German production. I would bet that they only hold 7 rounds. There are mold lines down the center of the followers... not in my experience with German made magazines.

They are NOT extruded magazines and therefore can't be Haenel Schmeisser police mag production.

They could quite possibly be original MITCHELL stainless steel magazines from the original production when they used the standard type P.08 magazine, and Triple-K may have been the producing sub-contractor for that.

That's my $0.02 story and I'm stickin' to it.

the mags hold 8 rounds. I've tried it out on the range yesterday.
They work great.

If they are reproductions, who is gifted enough to manufacture such kind of nickled masterpieces in your opinion?

I understand that Triple-K has had varying quality during their production over the years. I have rarely seen any that I liked, but others swear by them. They could have been made during one of those "quality" periods.

If they are stainless steel instead of nickel, they are very likely of the Mitchell Stainless "Luger" vintage. I doubt that the actual manufacturer of the original stainless lugers made their own magazines... it would be too expensive to tool up to produce them for the small number that would be required. More likely they were produced by one of the aftermarket producers out of materials specified by the marketing company (Mitchell). All of the stainless Lugers were produced by the same manufacturing plant now called Orimar, which may have finally gone belly-up, and previously the names AIMCO, STOEGER and MITCHELL (IN REVERSE ORDER OF PRODUCTION).

Mec-gar is a strong contender as the producer of these mags, and they would be my aftermarket magazine manufacturer of choice because of their consistent quality.

I believe you're correct! I pulled out a Mec-Gar mag and except for the case color, and base they are identical. Two bottom pins, same look to the follower, same slightly straight catch hole, same little dent by the follower button.

I agree that they are the older type Mec-Gar mags (prior to them adding their logo or polished and renickeled) with new repro alum bottoms installed and renumbereded. If they were stainless 3Ks the followers would not be metal. Nice job. Worthy of GT. TH

you are absolutly right!

The mags are Mec-Gar with a different kind of spring and custom bottoms made by GT.
He numbered the aluminium bottoms in such a great way to fit perfectly my Luger-Shooter!

I needed a pair of mags for my shooter and he made them for me, a wonderful job!

The mags are looking awesome and they work perfectly at the range as well !
If you need a great working magazine, GT ist the choice. I can highly recommend him.
